We did not take our inference quiz today, after correcting a couple of assignments, I can tell the kids just aren't ready.

Tomorrow is an early out.  We will be taking the reading portion of the MAP test.

Vocabulary
Our vocabulary this week:
Monday we will review our words from La Bamba.  Tuesday will be the test.  Here are the words:
1. applause - the clapping of hands to show approval.
2. debut - a first public performance.
3. duo - two people performing together.
4. embarrassed - made to feel self-conscious and ill at ease.
5. forty - five record - a small phonograph record that is played at forty - five revolutions per minute. 6. limelight - the center of public attention.

This week, students are asked to donate their spare change towards "Kids Helping Kids".  The class who raises the most money will get a movie and popcorn party!  The collection ends Thursday!

In our free time we are working on STEM (science, technology, engineering, math) activities.  Students can stay in for recess, or work during study hall on several STEM challenges.  This week we introduced a circuit making challenge, and a LEGO challenge to go along with our Mouse coding challenge.  Check out Nolan.  He made a circuit that could send a
propeller flying!

Today was the BEST day.  The kids were amazing!  We attended the play, Rock the Presidents at NIACC.  Then we returned to school in time for the PBIS reward assembly.  Here, the kids competed in contests and broke open eggs over several staff members heads.  Check out our school FBook page for the pictures from this! Ask your kids about today! It was AMAZING.
