Fifth grade does not do Valentine parties. WE will be saving our "party" movie day for Friday of that week. Students are allowed to bring treats on that day for themselves. Just like Christmas and Halloween, they may bring a drink and a small snack.

I'd like to start out by congratulating all of the students who participated in various events this weekend. It sounds like we had some great wrestlers, basketball and volleyball players, and spelling bee participants. Way to go, guys!

RC quiz #9 was due yesterday, so there is a whole new group of kids with reading logs. Anyone who isn't caught up on quizzes is required to do logs.
Spelling homework: find the mistakes in the letter that you got today. Make a chart of spelling words that are spelled correctly, and ones that are incorrect.
Writing assignment: Write a paragraph describing one of our new "illegal boring words". 5-7 sentences about something big, good, nice, or pretty. Remember not to use those words.
