8-22-3013

What a wonderful first day!  I can't believe how quickly our kids picked up their new procedures and routines.  Of course, as a normal first day goes, there were a few hiccups, but tomorrow will be even smoother.

No homework tonight. We'll be checking out our free reading books tomorrow, so look for those to come home.

Back to school conferences

A great big thank you to everyone who came to conferences!  I really enjoyed meeting all of you and am looking forward to a great year.  Please feel free to call me if you have any questions ANY time throughout the year.  Tomorrow we will spend most of our day getting organized and getting to know each other.  On Friday we will begin the real academics of fifth grade. I hope your child is as excited about fifth grade as I am to have them!

summer homework

Keep reading!  You have worked so hard to grow this year.  Set aside a little time each week to read this summer.  Students who don't read over the summer lose a great deal of their gains from the school year!
Click on the link below to find books in your lexile.  Thanks for the great year, kids!
