11-4-13 and What's coming up this week
Homework for tonight:
Read 20 minutes
Point of View question and answer
Reading: We will be continuing to work on reference materials this week. Students will learn about how different points of view change what an author's work looks like/sounds like. We will be reading a story about volcanoes. Our skill study will be on text organization with nonfiction material.
Spelling: Our spelling pretest will be on Tuesday and the test will be on Wednesday. We'll look for words that rhyme with our spelling words in order to spell words correctly (spelling strategy).
Vocabulary: The test will be next Monday. All words are content specific dealing with volcanoes. Students will need to learn what the base words struct and rupt mean and then be able to use them to figure out meanings of other words.
Grammar: YEAH...we finished nouns and verbs. Our test was today. We will move on to conjunctions and using them in sentences correctly.
Writing: Students will be gathering information to participate in a postcard exchange with the other states in the US. They will have to gather information and turn the facts into paragraphs.
