GRANT WON
I participated in, and won $500 and 500 Bonus Points to spend on my classroom library! My application was chosen from more than 82,000 entries in the 2017 Scholastic Book Clubs and James Patterson Partnership Giveaway. I will be able to chose from any of the Scholastic Book Club books to spend the $500. I will post a picture when the actual books come in! I'm so excited!

9-7-17We finally got to get our new computers out today. We learned how to log in. We spent a lot of time troubleshooting. The number of exciting opportunities these computers will give to us is amazing! I I'm not sure who is more excited, the students or the teachers. We use the computers to take our spelling pretest today.
Tomorrow is Iowa Iowa State day. If the kids want to wear something for whichever team they support, they can. The Iowa /Iowa State game is Saturday at Ames!

Today was a BUSY early out. On early out days, I split the room into different learning stations. With the help of Mr. Eide and Mrs. Smith, we spread ourselves out among the stations to work with students on various science, language, and reading skills that we've been working on.

Students have been given their new spelling words! Our pretest is tomorrow, with the test on Friday.
Also, remember to keep working on the cursive review packet. It is not due until September 8th!
Save Fred: Today we did a thinking activity where the kids had to problem solve and figure out how to save a "worm" that was trapped on a boat. They had a great time working together to solve Fred's problem!
