It seems like the last couple of weeks have been incredibly busy.  We are packing in as many things as we can during this last quarter.  Please keep checking the blogs, to make sure you know what is going on.

Midterms: Midterms went home last week, and are due back with a parent signature.  Please feel free to call or email with any questions you may have about your child's grades.

Reading: We are finishing our unit on Westward Expansion.  This weeks we'll be reading about how people from Mexico also moved to the Wild West during the time of Westward Expansion.  It happens to have fit perfectly, as this week is also Cinco De Mayo.  We'll be doing some reader's theater plays this week as well.  Our final set of FAST testing will be done this week.  Next week we'll be doing our final MAP assessments.  Look for those scores to be coming your way.

Spelling: New words will be coming out on Monday, with the pretest Tuesday, and the test on Friday.

Vocabulary: Test on Monday, with new words coming on Tuesday.

Language: This week we will be finishing our study of Figurative language.  The kids will be completing their notes at the beginning of the week, and completing a study guide towards the end of the week.  I'll let you know when the test will be, as we get closer to the end of the week.  It depends on how the kids do with our studying this week.

Wednesday is an early out.

Coming soon: May 11th is our field trip to the science center.  Kids DO need to bring lunch on that day!
