What a terrific day! The play was amazing. It was an African folk tale about inner beauty. The sets were cool, the music and dance were awesome! The kids had wonderful behavior. They were....PERFECT! They even noticed other students who were not displaying play etiquette.

Then we headed for lunch. This was what I was a little nervous about. It went so smoothly. Several elderly couples who were in having lunch even complimented our children's behavior. Too cool!

We also stopped to burn off some steam at a park. Then...headed home. I'll have some pictures for everyone in a couple of days.

No homework due tomorrow because of the play.

We will be leaving after all of the buses arrive. Students should dress nicely. The play begins at 10:00 at Iowa State. It should last around an hour. After the play we will be going to eat. We will return home in plenty of time to catch the buses.

February box top contest is over: Haugen's homeroom won this month. This is their second victory over Dickman's group this year. Those Dickman kids are hard to beat :)

Book orders are due on Tuesday.

Monday is our Read Across America day. Notes were sent home today. The kids should wear comfy clothes and bring lots of reading materials. We will be reading from 1:10-2:45 on Monday afternoon. They are allowed to bring a pillow if they would like to.
