Today is the last day in March.  That means that 2 March RC quizzes are due.  Tomorrow, anyone who didn't get their two quizzes will have to stay in for recess and read until they are completed.  They will also be bringing a note home to parents, to have signed.

Lunch menu changes

Happy Friday!!  With missing school last week and having sack lunches on that Monday, I need to change the menu a little!  On Monday, we will be having TENDERLOINS, BAKED BEANS, FRUIT, AND SALAD BAR.  On Tuesday, the menu will be CHEESE OMELET, CINNAMON BREAD, TRITATOR, FRUIT, AND SALAD BAR. 
Friday we will have the SHRIMP POPPERS, STRING CHEESE, VEGETABLE, FRUIT, AND SALAD BAR.

The students who achieved their gold, silver, and bronze medal awards for the reading olympics got their prizes today. Each student got a certificate, a bag of candy, and a free book.  Way to go Olympic READERS!

The students took a spelling test today, and will not be getting new words until next week!  They did get new vocabulary this week.  The test over those words will be next Wednesday. The students have their words in their binders!

Conferences tonight were GREAT!  I had 35 parents stop in for a visit.  I'm hoping to see the rest of you tomorrow.

Well, another little goof in our day thank to Mother Nature. Between the weather, ball games, and conferences, this is going to be a crazy week or so!  Please check the note that the kids brought home today.  ANOTHER change in Monday's schedule, we are now dismissing at 11:15.

The crazy schedule note went home today on CRAZY pink paper.  Take a look for this note in your child's binder.

Thursday: Tickets to the game go on sale in the office $8 each

Friday: We will be attending a pep assembly for the boy's basketball team from 2:15-3:00 at the high school. It is open to the public if you'd like to attend. Vocabulary test!  I know, not as exciting as a pep rally!

Monday: 12:15 dismissal due to the ball game in Des Moines

Tuesday and Wednesday: 1:30 dismissal with conferences from 2-6.  Remember our conferences are unscheduled, so stop in to any of the three classrooms for grade updates!

Thursday: School as normal if the boys DON'T win on Monday.  NO school if the boys do win on Monday. Let's hope for a win :)  This day will have to made up at the end of the year, like a snow day.

Mick and Bram took their spelling tests today, but my homeroom didn't quite make it!  We'll be taking the test tomorrow, so study again tonight.

All three sections have a capitalization worksheet to complete tonight for homework!

Our schedule for next week will be changing due to the basketball games in Des Moines.  The kid will be bringing notes home tomorrow explaining what's going on.  Changes to our schedule for sure....early outs on Monday, Tuesday, and Wednesday.  Conferences Tuesday and Wednesday from 2-6 (remember, 5th grade has drop in conferences with no times scheduled).  No school Friday!  Stay tuned for more in depth details.
