Elementary Helps “Knock Out” Cancer Week
Monday,
May 6
“Coins for the
Cure” bucket will be in your room.
Powerful
Pennies day- Students may bring pennies(or any other loose change to put in the
bucket). I will pick up at the end of
the day after school each day.
Announcement given:
If you would like to talk to your
students about wearing sunscreen when going outside, etc. to help prevent skin
cancer.
Tuesday,
May 7
Nickel Tickle Tuesday-Students may bring
nickels(or any other loose change to put in the bucket).

Wednesday,
May 8
Dump Your Dimes Wednesday- Students may
bring dimes(or any other loose change to put in the bucket)
Cancer Fact given during announcements
Put a Cap on Cancer day- Students who want
to wear a cap in school for the day must go see Mrs. Kern and donate a dollar
to the bucket for the Wright County Relay for Life. They will get a
sticker. By wearing the sticker, it will
allow them to wear their cap appropriately throughout the day. Teachers, if you have an activity that you
don’t want to have a cap on, please let me know and I will address that when
they get their sticker.
Thursday, May 9
Quarter Crazy Thursday-Students may
bring quarters(or any other loose change to put in the bucket).
Cancer Fact given during announcements
Special Assembly for 5th-6th
grade students 2:00-2:30- Stephanie Kappos from the American Cancer Society,
Jaci Gansen, Wright County Relay for Life Chairman, and Tori Gochenouer, high school student
Friday, May 105th and 6th grade Relay for Life at the track
2:15-3:15. All fundraising packets from
the 5th and 6th grade students will need to be turn in.
Special incentive prizes for the most donations obtained and the teams with the
most laps completed.
