Reading: Read at least 15 minutes tonight and log your time on your response journal. These minutes will count towards our school wide reading incentive contest. Before our early dismissal today, we went to an assembly where some of our teachers dressed up and preformed in a skit! This skit dealt directly with our year long reading theme of STAR readers! The classes that average the most minutes read will have a traveling trophy in their room. Two students per month will be drawn for reading prizes as well.

Mr. Meyer's homeroom has an activity to do called Mall Shopping.

Spelling: We took our first spelling test today. I was pleased with the results. I can tell I'm going to have to come up with some more challenging words for these 5th graders! We'll get our new words on Friday.

Language: No language class today due to the early out.

Announcements:
Pictures tomorrow, remember your money if you'd like your picture taken. All students will be photographed for the class composite.

Order forms for shirts have come home this week. Please turn them in by Friday, if you are interested.
